HIGSFY Trivia!

There have been two episodes of HIGSFY in its long and ignoble history. Both were performed in Adams' Grammar School's very own Big School Library.

The Format

Ade introduces the show and its contestants at the beginning. JTA's guest is always introduced before Statto's, and neither captain is introduced, since they are both already fairly infamous.

The first round is either Questions or Headlines and the deciphering or answering thereof, and the second round is whichever one we didn't do first. The third round is the Odd One Out, since it sometimes has jokes in it, and the fourth is Missing Words, which involves recovering deleted text from headlines.

After this, the audience leaves as quickly as they can, grumbling loudly, and we are left to clear up the mess on our own.

Fascinating Facts

The most people to have ever appeared on the show occurred in the second show, with five, if you count the host. The least number of people occurred in the previous show, with four, if you don't count the host.

The only girl to have ever appeared on HIGSFY is Alex Burnet.

No member of Darwin House has ever appeared on HIGSFY.

No member of the music department has ever featured as an Odd-One-Out, nor indeed anyone from the art, French, biology, geography or IT departments.

The show has never been performed on a Thursday. Either time.

No contestant has ever used the word ‘palaeontology'. Or ‘sodomite', or ‘philharmonic'. Indeed, there are some 800,000 words in the English language alone which no-one has ever said on HIGSFY.

The only audience member to make a formal complaint against the show for complimenting her on her teaching ability is Dr Hill, who appeared in an Odd One Out round because she'd won a teaching award and proceeded to attempt to kick Statto from the chemistry course.

The only episode to be recorded in all its audio-visual glory was the first one, and it is coincidentally the only one to have never been played back.

No contestant has ever whistled Auld Lang Syne backwards whilst wearing a Trilby hat.

Statistics

Statto has won two of the two episodes, being as he was the show's creator, and by a very dubious method the second time round.

JTA gets more questions right than Statto, especially in the second show when he won on points, but was denied the glory by ‘the style of election of a House Captain', under which Statto was declared victor.

Ade gets the most questions right, with a 100% record, because he has the answers in front of him. Ade is therefore also the most smug, being as none of the competitors are ever any good at answering the questions.
